Terms & Conditions of Participation


This agreement is between the Taste of WGBH Food and Wine Festival "Festival" and the participating chef or artist "Artist." Participating Artist is considered not only the restaurant or organization named in the registration form, but the individual artist indicated in that document.

Artist agrees to be onsite, set up and ready for City of Boston inspection at least 1 hour before the start time of the event you are participating in. Artist agrees to provide no less than the designated number of portions for the event you are participating in as indicated on the information page.

APPLICATION PROCESS: Registration will close 60 days before the event or when all available spaces at the event are full, whichever comes first. Submission of registration does not guarantee acceptance. $500 Deposit must be paid before application is considered complete.  Deposit should be submitted in the form of a check made out to WGBH Educational Foundation and mailed to 1337 Massachusetts Ave. #132, Arlington, MA 02476.

CANCELLATIONS AND FEES: Cancellations must be made in writing and by August 1st, 2018 Cancellations for anything other than catastrophic reason (limited to death, death of an immediate family member, illness requiring hospitalization, major weather event or terrorist act) will not be honored once Festival marketing campaign kicks off  August 1st, 2018. All cancellation notices from Artist must be made in writing, received by Festival via certified mail, and must state reason for Artist’s cancellation. In the event that Artist  fails to appear  on the date of the Event or otherwise does  not adhere to this cancellation provision, will be prohibited from participating in any future Festival event, and will be charged a five hundred dollar ($500.00) marketing  fee.

LIABILITY and INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: All Artists must provide a Certificate of Insurance showing coverage in the amount of $1,000,000 or more in general liability insurance, as well as proof of workers compensation insurance. The Description of Operations Field should have a note naming WGBH and Flavour as additionally insured on all policies (excl. worker’s comp). The date effective of the certificate must be the date of the event(s) you are participating in. The event takes place at 1 Guest St., Boston, MA 02135. WGBH Educational Foundation is the certificate holder. We must receive your certificate of insurance prior to the event. Under no circumstance would WGBH and Flavour be responsible for loss or damage to participant's property. Participants are advised to obtain enough insurance to cover the unforeseen. Participants agree to hold WGBH, Flavour, their agents, employees, officers, representatives, and assignees harmless regarding any alleged harm or injury to any person resulting from their participation in the  Taste of WGBH Food & Wine Festival event.

DELIVERY OF SERVICE: All Artists are expected to remain at their stations throughout the entirety of the event. Breakdown cannot begin until the event close, or earlier if approval is given directly from the event organizer. Artists who breakdown and leave before this time will be assessed a $250 fee. This fee also applies in the event that Artist fails to prepare enough food to serve up to the last quarter of the event.

SANITATION & WASTE: All Artists are responsible for complying with federal, state and local standards of health, sanitation, fire and food safety. Artists are responsible for collecting & properly bagging trash within their locations. We intend to make this a “green” event by sending all organic waste offsite to a special facility and will provide appropriate containers for trash, recycling and organic waste. The event organizers will collect properly bagged waste from outside of your booth location. Artists must restore their booth back to its original state upon completion of the event.
